1960 Rare Vintage Kaj Polk Denmark Mid-century Modern Art Pottery Vase Eames Era

  

Exceptional Mid-Century Modern Kaj Polk Denmark Ceramic Art Pottery Vase (or lamp base) with Hand-Painted artwork dating to approximately c. 1960 produced by Kaj Polk Denmark.

This striking art pottery work features lavish hand-painted freeform line, dot and geometrical artwork wrapping around the vase's hollow form. The vase has a rich orange-brown (terracotta) colour with cream (off-white) with black and green in the lower portion. The colour's area is sealed under a beautiful high gloss glazed finish. There is a small clean round and enamelled hole (for lamp wiring hardware) in the bottom side near the base.

The small hole is original, produced by Kaj Polk allowing for the vase to be wired as a lamp in alternative productions. This vase was acquired form the original owners and was maintained and displayed with great care. The pottery is in excellent condition with no damages. This work measures approximately 15" height by 7" diameter.
