Vintage Rare Large Danish Ceramic Gerd Hiort Peterson Signed 12.2! Impressive Ceramic Bird figurin / sculpture nr 621. Mid century modern Designed by Gerd Hiort Petersen in 1972. This large modern bird by Gerd Hiort Petersen (1937-) is one of her finest works for Soholm. Beautifully glazed in blue and white with superb artistry. Gerd Hiorth Petersen was the first female potter apprentice on Bornholm when she came to Soholm pottery in 1954. She has studied at Akademie für angewandte Kunst in Vienna, and also at the School of Arts & Crafts in Copenhagen. She has worked for Royal Copenhagen and for Soholm. From the 70s she and her husband Hans Munck Andersen, runs their own very well reputed Ceramic studio at Bornholm. Signed on bottom with Søholm Stentøj (stoneware) Denmark and the artist initials G.
